About the Role: Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Sales Manager to join their team. This senior role is critical to ensuring a steady flow of revenue into the business, with the ultimate goal of promoting and selling our client’s premium wine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to maximize bookings and revenue for the new function centre and hotel, set to open in 2025.
- Lead Conversion: Efficiently convert inbound leads to secure bookings.
- Market Introduction: Leverage your network to introduce our client’s event spaces to high-end markets in Melbourne, Australia, and internationally.
- Event Creation: Design unique and bespoke events, adhering to marketing guidelines and collaborating with the marketing team to create effective sales collateral.
- Professional Representation: Always represent our client and their owners in the most professional manner.
Duties Include:
- Developing a strategic plan with a 3-year vision.
- Meeting established sales budgets.
- Creating and executing event marketing and promotion plans.
- Maintaining and nurturing existing channels to achieve exceptional outcomes.
- Designing events that meet client needs and maximize revenue.
- Managing event budgets and delivering ROI on marketing activities.
- Representing our client’s events to the MICE, tourism, and wedding markets.
- Seeking client feedback to continually improve service quality.
- Building long-term relationships to foster repeat patronage and customer loyalty.
- Keeping client information up to date in the CRM.
- Staying informed about company product availability and competitor activity.
- Ensuring all events meet client expectations.
- Networking with business conferencing and events groups to increase revenue.
- Attending and representing at trade shows.
- Liaising with local accommodation and external agents to increase business.
Communications and Marketing:
- Aligning external communication with company standards and values.
- Staying updated with marketing trends for the MICE and wedding markets.
- Collaborating with the marketing department to create collateral.
- Utilizing the website, direct marketing, package partners, and social media tools for marketing.
- Creating briefs for marketing collateral.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in event sales and business development.
- Strong network within the Melbourne and Australian markets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
