We are seeking an experienced Senior Chef de Partie for a dynamic team at an upmarket café located within a prestigious supermarket in the Northern Suburbs of Sydney. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, this is an exciting opportunity to showcase your skills in a vibrant and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing the daily kitchen operations.
- Order stock, monitor, and control stock levels, ensuring a seamless kitchen flow.
- Unload and store deliveries efficiently.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with the kitchen’s OH&S and HACCP policies.
- Train staff on HACCP procedures and implement control measures for manual handling.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen by adhering to strict cleaning schedules.
- Report any maintenance issues directly to the Executive Chef.
- Ensure mise en place is properly set up for each section before service.
- Liaise with the Front of House (FOH) teams to coordinate bookings and events.
- Enforce Health and Safety policies and ensure staff are knowledgeable about food allergens and dietary requirements.
- Report all incidents and accidents promptly to the Executive Chef or Manager on Duty.
- Train and onboard new kitchen staff in line with department procedures.
- Ensure all staff maintain Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) certification.
- Oversee staff attendance, ensuring proper reporting procedures for lateness or absences.
- Handle customer complaints in a professional and efficient manner, reporting feedback to the Executive Chef.
- Uphold high standards of employee conduct, including uniform and personal hygiene.
- Collaborate with other departments as necessary.

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or Senior Chef de Partie.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and OH&S procedures.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- A passion for creating high-quality food with excellent presentation.
- Permanent Residency or citizenship required
