Role Overview:
An opportunity has emerged for a skilled Cook to join the team at our client’s 45,000 head feedlot in rural Queensland. This position is ideal for a self-motivated, energetic individual passionate about providing nutritious meals for up to 50 people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing and cooking meals for around 50 people, with a focus on dinner as the main hot meal of the day.
- Catering for visitors, contractors, and various events.
- Ordering and maintaining kitchen supplies.
- Keeping the kitchen and dining areas clean and hygienic.
- Designing a weekly menu plan with nutritious, home-cooked meals.
- Preparing breakfast and lunch options, including continental breakfasts and sandwich-style lunches.
Skills and Attributes:
- Experience in food handling preferred.
- Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safe food hygiene practices and workplace health and safety policies.
Additional Information:
- Work hours: 10-hour day, from 8 am to 7 pm.
- Single person accommodation available on-site, if required.
- The role reports to the Feedlot Administration Manager.
- Involves interaction with internal team members and external stakeholders like suppliers and site visitors.
